CPV handles FESCO’s 3.100teu boxship
Commercial Port of Vladivostok (CPV) commenced unloading the FESCO Almathea, a largest containership owned by Far Eastern Shipping Company (FESCO), the stevedore company said,
This is the second large-tonnage boxship serving FESCO China Direct Line (FCDL), the only direct container service between the ports of China and the Russian Far East. The 3,100teu FESCO Almathea is similar to the Fesco Diomid, a container carrier that has operated on FCDL for a year.
From now on, the FCDL containerships will be calling at the Vladivostok Container Terminal once a week.
Commercial Seaport of Vladivostok, member of FESCO Transport Group, owns and operates its assets at the port of Vladivostok, one of the largest Russian seaports in the Far East. Port of Vladivostok encompasses 55 ha, over 14 km of waterfront with 17 berths, including terminals for handling grain, containers, imported cars and a passenger terminal. In 2010, CPV’s cargo throughput rose year-over-year by 11% to 6,9 million tons.
