SASCO continues establishing China-Russia container service
Sakhalin Shipping Company (SASCO) has completed the next phase in the formation of high-speed weekly container service linking China’s Shanghai and Ningbo with the Russian ports of Vladivostok and Vostochny, the shipping company said. The service will include rail links to major Russian cities and coastal lines of SASCO, providing fast handling and shipment of containers to the ports of Sakhalin, Kamchatka and Magadan.
There are two container ships operating on the service each of optimal capacity of 834 twenty-foot containers, which are the best for handling at Russian ports and transshipment of containers to rail and coastal lines. Transit time on the Ningbo - Vladivostok lane is 3 days, Shanghai - Beijing - 4 days, the company said.
OJSC Sakhalin Shipping Company is one of the largest shipping companies in Russia. SASCO operates a fleet of ice-class vessels capable of carrying a wide range of cargoes: containers, general cargo, equipment, suction and grab bulk cargo, timber and wood products. The company provides year-round transportation from the ports of De-Kastri, Vanino and Sovetskaya Gavan.
