Transgarant traffic grows 4 percent in Jan-Nov
The volume of cargo hauled by Transgarant Group for the 11-month period of this year totaled 23.5 million tons, a 4-percent gain over the same period of last year, the Group said on Thursday.
In January-November, the company carried 134,000 twenty-foot-equivalent units (TEU) of container, or up 32% from a year earlier.
"The growth is due to an increase in the volume of exports / imports and inland container traffic, mostly by fast container trains. This significantly reduces the turnover of flatcars boost the number of transported containers," the company’s press release said.
Transgarant, part of FESCO Group is a leading private rail operator on the Russian transportation market. Transgarant provides ranged services for commodities carriage. Annual traffic volume of Transgarant totals 25 million tons, freight turnover- 35 billion tons/km.
