Two bodies from sunken Ginga identified as Sakhalin residents
The bodies of the Cambodia-flagged Ginga crew members were identified on Sakhalin as residents of the Sakhalin region, the Far Eastern Transport Investigation Department said.
The bodies of the victims that were recovered on December 2 in the La Perouse Strait have been taken to the port of Korsakov. An earlier report said that the active search for other seafarers of the mixed crew of eight members (five of them Russia nationals) had been ceased due to bad weather conditions in that area.
The investigative committee alleged the main cause of the accident was a violation of navigation safety requirements by the ship master.
