One Coast Guardsman is dead and the search continues for three others after a Coast Guard MH-65C Dolphin helicopter went down in Mobile Bay, AL, during a training flight last night, the US Coast Guard news release said.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the crewmembers during this difficult time,” said Capt. Don Rose, commander of Coast Guard Sector Mobile.
Coast Guard aircraft, boats and cutters along with state and local resources and Good Samaritan vessels are participating in the search effort.
At this time, the names of the crewmembers are being withheld pending next of kin notifications.
The cause of the incident is under investigation.
