Novorossiysk terminal handles record number of containers

The Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port Group’s container terminal on March 14, 2012 completed offloading/loading a record number of containers from/to one ship. Today at Berth Number 18 of Broad Pier № 1 of JSC NCSP the stevedore unloaded from the MV ZIM COLOMBO 1112 containers (1844 TEUs) and loaded 1664 boxes (2769 TEUs), or the total of 2776 containers (4613 TEUs), the Company said Wednesday.


First Deputy CEO of JSC "NCSP" Marat Shaydaev comments: "This turns out to be a record volume containers ever offloaded/loaded at the port of Novorossiysk from one vessel. It took 85 hours to handle the vessel. These figures clearly demonstrate the growth in container business of JSC "NCSP" and its effectiveness.


Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port Group is the largest Russian port operator. The NCSP Group incorporates the following stevedore companies: PJSC Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port, PJSC Novorossiysk Grain Terminal, OJSC Novorossiysk Shipyard, PJSC Fleet of NCSP, OJSC NovorosLesExport, OJSC IPP, Baltic Stevedoring Company Ltd. and PJSC Primorsk Trade Port Ltd. Novoport Holding Ltd, which is beneficially owned by Transneft and Ziyavudin Magomedov (Summa Group) holds a 50.1% stake in PJSC NCSP.
NCSP Group’s consolidated revenue according to IFRS for the nine months of 2011 totaled $782 million and EBITDA of $404 million. In 2011, cargo throughput of NCSP Group (including PTP) totaled 157 million tons.
