Total revenue of FESCO (Far East Shipping Company) from fleet operation under RAS (Russian Accounting Standards) totaled RUR 5 423 million in January-September 2006 (+13.2% against year-on-year result), the company’s press release reads. The company’s RAS profit from fleet operation totaled RUR 807 million against RUR 45 million of loss in January-September 2005. FESCO’s pre-tax RAS profit totaled RUR 1 029 million, which is 2.3 times as high as in January-September 2005. FESCO’s RAS net profit totaled RUR 813 million, which is 2.6 times as high is in January-September 2005. Total taxes and allocations paid by FESCO to budgets and non-budget funds of all levels amounted over the reported period to RUR 1 143 million.
Volume of linear container transportation (by regular routes), which is one of the key types of FESCO's transportation amounted to 238,000 TEU (-17% against year-on-year result). Volume of coastal trade cargo was 50,000 TEU (+9%), export-and-import transportation – 83,000 TEU (+12%). Railway transportation of containers amounted to 26,000 TEU (+200%), motor transportation – 8,000 TEU (+141%). Decrease of total volume is attributed by the company to implementation of linear transportation business between foreign ports (cross-trade) of Hamburg Sud company. Total deadweight of FESCO’s fleet grew over the reported period by 12.8% to 1.1 million dwt. In particular, container fleet grew by 56% to 32,000 TEU. Besides, current backlog of orders signed for fleet construction includes 10 container carriers with total capacity of 20 794 TEU.
