STX Group wins $120m order
STX Group unveiled order wins amounting to $120m to build two LPG carriers and two oil tankers, Seatrade Asia online reports. The South Korean conglomerate will build two 6,500 cubic metres LPG carriers in Busan and deliver them to a Greek owner by the second quarter of 2014.
STX also inked a deal to construct two 50,000 dwt oil tankers in Jinhae for delivery by the second quarter of 2013.
The company added that it had signed a letter of intent with a domestic client to build two LPG carriers and with a Middle East client on building a vessel to carry liquefied ethylene. The deal in the making is valued at about $430m.
As of late April, STX won contracts worth $2.2bn, representing 6.8% of its target sales of $15bn for this year.
