The government of Ecuador has introduced new directives that will formalise all services offered by those working within the ports industry, Port Strategy reports.
These directives, which will be overseen by the Undersecretary of Ports and Maritime Transport, must be implemented within one year.
Anybody currently authorised to work as a port operator must undergo this new process and only those registered will, in future, be allowed to work within the ports industry.
