Severnaya Verf Shipyard to bid for Russian Navy contract
Severnaya Verf Shipyard is set to participate in a tender for the construction of mobile logistics ship of 23120 project for the Russian Defense Ministry, the shipbuilding firm said.
Today the Board of Directors of Severnaya Verf (Northern Shipyard) will consider preliminary approval of a deal to get an irrevocable bank guarantee for the state contract (if the shipbuilding firm turns out to be the bidding winner).
The Board is going to approve the annual report of the company for FY2011 and announce the recommendations to the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders on the order of distribution of profits and losses of the enterprise.
St. Petersburg-based Severnaya Verf (Northern Shipyard) is a leading shipbuilding company of the Russian defense industry. The firm has been part of Moscow-headquartered United Industrial Corporation since 2004. The shipyard specializes in building cruisers, destroyers, minesweepers, antisubmarine and patrol ships, research and passenger vessels, timber cargo carriers, trawlers, container ships and ro-ro vessels for the Russian Defense Ministry and foreign customers.
