North-Western Shipping Company transported 5.3 million tons of cargo in 10.5 months of 2006

In 10.5 month of 2006 North-Western Shipping Company transported 5.3 million tons of cargo, press center of the company reports according to RBC. This result is similar to that of 2005, y-o-y. According to Galina Ovechkina, head of the company’s press center optimal charter policy helped to not only preserve the level of internal fleet results but to increase them. Volume non-ferrous ore, sulfur raw material, coke, coal, ferrous metals, grain has been preserved at y-o-y level. Transportation of fruit, vegetable, construction materials, iron and manganese ore was increased. In particular, the company carried 844.7 thou tons of construction materials (+131 thou tons against year-on-year result), 73.3 thou tons of fruit and vegetables (+20 thou tons, year-on-year).
