The company, among the largest containership charter owners in the world, has on order an additional 15 ships with a total capacity of 75,124 TEU with scheduled deliveries up to the end of 2009. All the vessels have already been chartered at fixed rates to major liner companies for 12 years.
A Danaos statement explained that the CSCL Le Harve has been chartered out to China Shipping for 12 years. Under its current fixed charter rate, it is expected to add in excess of US$12 million in annual revenues over that time.
Danaos CEO John Coustas said: "We are pleased to take delivery ahead of schedule of the CSCL Le Havre, which along with its sister ship the CSCL Pusan that joined our fleet in early September, are two of the largest containership vessels of their type in the world."
