Zebra Technologies renews Navis partnership
Zebra Technologies Corporation has announced the renewal of their partnership with Navis to be the exclusive provider of marine terminal automation and real-time location solutions (RTLS) to the maritime industry in the EMEA and Americas regions, Port Technology reports.
“We are pleased to continue our partnership with Zebra as the exclusive provider of RTLS solutions to marine terminal operators in the EMEA, APAC and Americas regions,” said John Scott, Vice President, of Zebra’s Container Terminal Solutions.
“Zebra’s WhereNet technologies enable our customers to improve productivity and efficiency as marine terminal volumes continue to grow.”
Zebra Technologies’ Marine Solutions include the WhereNet solution portfolio which enables marine terminal operators, port community operators and 3PL’s to streamline their inbound and outbound logistics.
Zebra also provides additional levels of automation into Marine Terminal Operating Systems (TOS) helping to automate terminal asset management by capturing real-time data to locate, track and manage the critical equipment and assets used in marine terminal processes. These include inventory management, job promotion and container handoff.
The WhereNet real time locating system (RTLS) provides the longest range RTLS capabilities and performance in complex and hazardous environments, according to Zebra. Its 1,750 meters long tag to sensor range allows real-time visibility and status information on assets with a cost-effective RTLS network infrastructure.
“Our customers have real time visibility to their operation and the necessary tools to drive a 6-12 month return on investment,” says Scott.
