CHINA's first panamax-5,300 TEU vessel independently designed and built at Zhejiang's shipyard has put to sea, which signals a Chinese breakthrough in high-tech, high-value mega shipbuilding, reports Xinhua.
The 64,000-deadweight tonne ship from Zhejiang Ouhua Shipbuilding is 294 metres long, 32 metres wide and has a 21-metre draft and cam move at 25-knots. The ship's building technique has set the top nationwide standard for safety, environmental protection and energy savings.
