Tallinna Sadam initiates construction of a new berth for mixed and loose cargo

Tallinna Sadam (port of Tallinn) initiated the project for construction of a new berth for mixed and loose cargo at the Southern port of Paldiski. According to RZD-Partner, Sven Rattasepp, PR manager of the port, says the specialists will enlarge the existing terminal. Till now it has been used for transshipment of oil products. It is expected that the length of the renewed 13.5m deep berth will reach 230 meters. The construction is scheduled to be finalized by the middle of 2008.

Tallinn port also plans to extend new railway link to the port of Muuga. It is intended to serve industrial park, which is under construction there. It is planned to build one 400-meters branch and two shorter branches. All in all the port intends to invest €200 million within 5 years into the development of Muuga. Tallinna Sadam also plans to build a construction at the passenger port in the center of Tallinn to make a direct link between А and В terminals.
