Container turnover of Riga port up 8% in 9M06

In the 9-month period of 2006 Riga port demonstrated the highest container turnover among Latvian ports – it handled 130.7 thou TEU (+8% against year-on-year result), RZD-Partner reports. It made 89.2% of all container cargo in Latvia. Ventspils port handled 10.5 thou TEU (7.1% of total volume) after 559 TEU of the previous year. Liepaja demonstrated the lowest results – 5.4 thou TEU (3.7% of total volume), which is 7.1% higher compared to the results a year before.
