Mechel US GAAP net profit up 18.24% in 9M06

The net profit of the Russian integrated mining and steel group Mechel under US GAAP grew 18.24 percent to $372.1m in the first nine months of 2006 compared to the same period a year earlier, RBC reports. Revenue increased by 7.9 percent to $3.14bn, net operating profit rose 6.8 percent to $482.9m, and EBITDA climbed 17.4 percent to $668.5m.
