According to State Statistics Committee of Ukraine, volume of marine transportation totaled 6.553 million tons in 9 months of 2006 (+0.3% or +19 thou tons against year-on-year result), RZD-Partner reports. A month ago the Committee registered a 1.5% decrease, year-on-year (-87 thou tons), in the first half-year - -3.8% (76 thou tons). However, the tendency growth is not stable due to low volume of sea transportation (about 1% of total Ukraine’s transportation) and unstable logistics. International transportation continue to decrease - -1% over the reported period (-47.3 thou tons to 4.69 million tons). A month ago it was -2%, y-o-y, in the first half-year - -3.6%. However, month-to-month dynamics is a positive one: in September, international transportation by sea totaled 559.6 thou tons (+8.8% against September 2005). Volume of coastal trade cargo totaled on the 9-month period 1.863 million tons (+3.6% against 9-month period of 2005). The share of September transportation – 272.4 thou tons (+35.7% against September 2005).
