From the beginning of December, the CMA CGM Utrillo will be inserted between two consecutive fortnightly sailings of the present vessel sequence.
This is intended to provide weekly departures over a period of three weeks, after which time the service frequency will revert back to fortnightly, a company statement explained.
In the initial phase of this service upgrade both CMA CGM and VSA partner Compagnie Maritime Marfret will market slots on the extra vessel.
"This upgrading of line frequency is the first stage of a plan to progressively improve the service through an increased number of sailings per annum and responds to customers demand for a more frequent and fixed-day direct service," said Jean-Louis Bellencourt, senior manager Europe-Oceania Lines.
