Foreign trade turnover of Leningrad Region grew 17% in January-September to RUR 7.5 billion, ABN reports. Export totaled $5 billion (+ 11% against year-on-year result), import totaled $2.5 billion (+31% ). Leningrad Region is the leader in the North West Federal District of Russia in terms of export (11.3% of all export in NWFD) and it is the third in terms of import (12.3% of all NWFD import).
The region held trade operation with the partners representing 120 countries, mostly GB (27.6% of all turnover), Switzerland (25.3%), Finland (7,9%), Germany (6.2%), Estonia (3.2%), Netherlands (2.1%). The share of the states outside CIS totaled 97.4% of all foreign trade turnover.
