GAC Group optimises its resources in Russia
GAC Group has announced the establishment of Moscow-headquartered GAC Shipping & Logistics, consolidating the company's existing facilities in Novorossiysk and St Petersburg.
The new company not only consolidates Gulf Agency Co Novorossiysk and GAC St Petersburg, it also adds a third branch office at the new port of Taman on the Black Sea where the company will specialise in providing shipping services at liquid and dry bulk terminals.
This strategic move not only optimises GAC's resources in Russia, it is also the company's response to customer demand within the shipping, logistics and marine services industries.
GAC's first office in the Russian Federation opened in Novorossiysk in 2001 to provide shipping services at Sheskharis and CPC-R oil terminals, and expanded to provide additional services such as freight forwarding and crewing. In 2005, GAC opened its second Russian office, in St. Petersburg, one of the country's largest ports.
GAC expanded into Turkmenistan in 2000 and, recognising Central Asia's significance as one of the world's principal oil and gas producing regions, opened two new branches in Kazakhstan in 2008.
