The sides discussed relatonships between China and Russia at the background of the global crisis. The importance of the cooperation between two railway systems was underlined. It is assumed to be reached due to the increase in the containers shipment from China and South Eastern Asia to Russia and Europe.
The Chinese government intends to invest $100bn in the railways development including $39bn in 2009.
V.Yakunin informed about the intention of Russia to develop the entrails in Mongolia and build the container terminal at Radzhin port in DPRK. By now JV has been set up by RZHD and DB to provide logistic works and cargo transportation. RZHD and Stinnels (sub of Deutsche Bahn) have 30% each, Transcontainer (RZHD sub) - 20%, Polzug (Poland) and Kombiverkehr (Germany) - 10%.
The railway cargo turnover between Russia and China reached 48mln ton. The transit involves petroleum products, chemicals, soda.
