Coast guards of Northern Norway detained last night the Russian fishing trawler Proekt.
“There are suspicions that the trawler was fishing in an area where fishing is prohibited,” said Stein Wilhelmsen, representative of the local police. The trawler was ordered to head for the port of Sortland, the Vesteralen archipelago. If the guilt of the crew is proved, a fine will be imposed on the ship owner.
This is the third occurrence of a Russian vessel being detained in Norway this month and the fourth occurrence this year, Itar-Tass reports.
