Lenmorniiproekt to design Gelendzhik seaport infrastructure by 2016
Lenmorniiproekt OJSC has won the open tender announced by FSUE Rosmorport for the right to sing a contract on survey and project works for Gelendzhik seaport infrastructure construction. As IAA PortNews learnt from Lenmorniiproekt, the construction will be implemented through the mechanisms of private-public partnership.
The first phase of design and construction will be financed by the government budget, Rosmorport and off-budget sources. The private investors will be attracted. The first phase is to comprise the construction of a cargo & passenger port as well as berthing for different yachts. In the future, the area is to be expanded with hotels, restaurants, shopping mall complexes as well as low-height housing.
Major target of port Gelendzhik is round-the-year transshipment of general and ro-ro cargo (800,000 tonnes per year) and annual servicing of up to 20,000 passengers. The port is to handle dry cargo carriers, ro-ro cargo vessels and passenger ships with deadweight of up to 5,500 tonnes. Besides, special berthing is to accommodate yachts of 12 to 60 meters in length. The construction and commissioning of the new port is to take 2.5 years.
Survey and project works for Gelendzhik seaport infrastructure construction will be performed within 18 months by Lenmorniiproekt. The company experts have had an experience in designing seaport infrastructure in Krasnodar territory (dry cargo district of Taman seaport, Taman oil terminal, port Sochi, port Kavkaz). The survey and project works are estimated at RUB 130 mln.
