The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) is moving ahead with plans to add 400,000 barrels per day (bpd) to its current domestic refining capacity, reports said.
The 400,000 bpd capacity addition is to be carried out under a previously planned five-year investment strategy, according to Ali Obaid Al-Yabhouni, general manager for the Abu Dhabi National Tanker Company and National Gas Shipping Co. Ltd.
Al-Yabhouni was quoted saying that ADNOC will also continue to up its gas production in order to meet rising domestic demand.
Such a move would allow for ADNOC to export more oil, which would otherwise have been used for domestic power generation purposes, he add
