Maersk Logistics and Damco to merge under Damco name by September 7

Copenhagen's AP Moller-Maersk will merge its supply chain management subsidiary Maersk Logistics with its forwarding unit Damco, a process to be completed when the operation publicly re-brands as Damco on September 7, said a company statement.
"Our teams across the globe will become easier to do business with than before," said Maersk Logistics-Damco CEO Rolf Habben-Jansen. "This means spending more time with customers, asking questions and engaging with them to build the right solutions."
Between June and September 7, supply chain services will be provided under the Maersk Logistics brand and forwarding, under Damco.
Maersk Logistics and Damco employs 10,500 in 272 offices, covering over 93 countries in Asia, Africa, North America, Europe, Middle East and Latin America, and had a 2008 revenue of US$2.8 billion, shipped 500,000 TEU of ocean freight, air freighted 60,000 tonnes while supply chain management services and handled 50 million cubic metres (CBM).
