In January-May 2009, the port of Nakhodka handled 6.373 million tonnes of cargo (-9.2%, year-on-year), the port administration states. According to the source, transshipment of dry cargo fell by 22.72% to 3,381,700 tonnes including 917,900 tonnes of dry bulk and loose cargo (+6.44%, year-on-year). Transshipment of ore and flux metal fell by 28.4% to 123,500 tonnes, coal and coke was up 26.3% to 791,500 tonnes, other – down 21.8 times to 2,900 tonnes.
In the reported period, transshipment of timber fell 1.66 times to 268,700 tonnes including 329,200 tonnes of round timber (down almost three times) and 157,900 tonnes of sawn timber (down 34.7%).
Transshipment of general cargo fell by 26.32% to 2.175 million tonnes including 1,829,700 tonnes of ferrous metal (-24%) 218,900 tonnes of non-ferrous metal (down 2.2 times), 42,100 tonnes of scrap metal (down 1.7 times), 64,300 tonnes of packaged cargo (down 3.34 times), 10,500 tonnes of other cargoes (down 13.6 times).
In the 5-month period transshipment of oil products increased by 13.5% to 2,992,100 tonnes. the port’s container throughput fell 9.2 times to 2,557 TEU.
Commercial Seaport of Nakhodka decreased its throughput by 13.4% to 3,121,200 tonnes. Container throughput of the stevedoring company fell 65 timnes to 330 TEU.
