Commercial Port of Vladivostok eyeing construction of 1.5-mln t grain terminal

Commercial Port of Vladivostok (VMTP OJSC) is eyeing the construction of a grain terminal capable of handling up to 1.5 million tonnes of cargo per year, VMTP deputy Director General Vyacheslav Yakimtsev says.

According to him, the project of the grain terminal comprising a complex of conveyors and elevator is envisaged by the company’s strategic plan for the development till 2015, Interfax reports. Technical design assignment has alreadybeen prepared. The company is currently considering ways of cooperation with possible investors.

The terminal is to export almost all grain and oil crops.

Commercial Port of Vladivostok OJSC owns and operates the property complex of the port of Vladivostok, one of Russia’s largest ports in the Far East. Commercial Port of Vladivostok operates 17 berths including container, passenger, motor car specialized berths.

Commercial Port of Vladivostok is a part of FESCO Transport Group. In 2008, the company handled 5.914.8 million tonnes of cargo.
