Norilsk to restart loading ships after a halt in the port of Dudinka

Russian metals giant Norilsk Nickel said on Thursday it expects to restart shortly loading first cargo ships after a seasonal halt of its main export outlet, the Arctic port of Dudinka, caused by flooding.
"Two ships are expected to arrive on June 14, which will be loaded in the open sea," a Norilsk spokesman said.
Norilsk normally interrupts loading of nickel, copper and cobalt bound for export markets and focuses on its refineries on the northwestern Kola peninsula at the end of May, when ice breaks on the Yenisei river where Dudinka is located.
The port equipment is dismantled during this period.
Normally, sometime in June, Dudinka starts loading ships in the open sea by barges, while high water levels do not permit normal port operations.
