Severnaya Verf to launch supply vessel built for Siddis SkipperII AS on June 16

Shipbuilding plant Severnaya Verf (St. Petersburg) plans to launch supply vessel project VS 470 PSV MkII being built to the order of Siddis SkipperII AS (Norway). According to the company’s press center, it is the first order for such a vessel placed by a foreign customer to be built by a Russian shipyard under a turnkey principle. 

The vessel was designed by VIK-SANDVIK AS (Norway), conventional class: Classification society - Det Norske Veritas / DNV (Norway). The vessel is equipped for transportation of drill fluid, loose cargo, methanol and general cargo. It can also participate in rescue and firefighting operations. Seagoingqualities: not limited (excluding ice class). Length — 73.4 m, speed — about 14.2 knots.

The shipyard is currently fulfilling two other similar export contracts.

Shipbuilding plant Severnaya Verf (Severnaya Verf OJSC, St. Petersburg) founded in 1912 is one of the largest shipbuilding companies in Russia. Major shareholders of the shipyard are United Industrial Corporation CJSC which controls 72.19% of the company’s shares. The state in the name of Western Center of Shipbuilding OJSC owns 20.96% of shares.
