Throughput of Helsinki port down 28% to 3.46 mln t in Jan-May 09

In January-May 2009, the Port of Helsinki handled 3.46 mln t (-28%, year-on-year), the port administration informs. In May, the port’s throughput also fell by 28% to 700,000 tonnes.

In the 5-month period, the port’s container throughput fell by 20% to 145,500 TEU, transshipment of Ro Ro cargo – by 22% to 176,000 units.
