Northern Shipping Company to pay dividends for 2008

Shareholders of Northern Shipping Company OJSC approved payment of RUR 6.7 per one ordinary share and RUR 8.9 per one preferred share as dividends for 2008, the company states. In 2008, net profit of NSC totaled RUR 21.3 mln.

Northern Shipping Company OJSC is one of the largest transport companies in Russia’s Noerthern region. The company was founded in 1870. As of today, Northern Shipping Company is a part of a highly integrated holding of three shipping companies, coordinates distribution of its own tonnage within its common interests with Murmansk Shipping Company OJSC and Northern River Shipping Company OJSC. The company’s fleet consists of 53 vessels including 34 vessels of transport fleet, 11 vessels of dredging fleet, 8 service vessels. Total deadweight of NSC is 252,900 tonnes. In 2008, the company’s vessels carried 2.685 million tonnes of cargo (+221,300 tonnes, year-on-year).
