CMA CGM upgrades Asia-Middle East service

CMA CGM said it will upgrade its CIMEX service between Asia and ports in the Middle East Gulf in July by replacing its two existing loops with one that features larger ships.
The French carrier said it is making the change because the trade from Asia to the Middle East has enjoyed a healthy growth that is likely to continue.
The enhanced service in partnership with CSCL replaces both CMA CGM CIMEX and CSCL AMA services, featuring two major changes:
--The new CIMEX will deploy six 8,500-TEU ships that will replace the 3,000-TEU and 5,700-TEU ships that are currently deployed on CIMEX/AMA, without adding extra capacity to the market.
-- The new CIMEX will make five new port calls at Tianjin, Dalian, Shekou, Nansha and Damman that offer new direct connections to North China and the Middle East Gulf.
The new CIMEX rotation will be as follows: Tianjin, Dalian, Pusan, Shanghai (Yangshan), Shanghai (Waigaoqiao), Ningbo, Shekou, Port Kelang, Khor Fakkan, Jebel Ali, Damman, Bandar Abbas, Port Kelang, Nansha and return to Tianjin.
The new CIMEX service will start its westbound rotation on July 8 with the sailing of the CMA CGM Don Carlos from Tianjin.
