The VSZHD Press-Service has informed RZD-Partner.Ru IA that from the beginning of this year East-Siberian Railway has transported 77 % of all container cargoes in large-capacity containers.
A total of more than 34,800 containers were shipped by VSZHD from January to the end of May 2009, almost 26,900 of them were large-capacity units.
In May 2009 containers carried more than 118,900 tons of cargoes, that is 8.8 % more than during the similar period of last year. 113,000 tons from this amount was transported in large-capacity containers; 95 % of the total amount of cargoes.
