Somali pirates release Belgian ship with four Croatian sailors

The Croatian Foreign Ministry confirmed yesterday (Sun) that Belgian ship Pompei, hijacked by Somali pirates on 18 April north of the Seychelles, has been released.
Four Croats were among the ship’s 10 crew members. According to Belgian officials, the entire crew is in good health.
The ship is sailing towards Oman, at which it should arrive in a few days, and the Croatian sailors will soon return home.
The Belgian government has refused to provide any more information about the ship’s release, but rumour has it that a ransom was paid.
The ship is owned by the Belgian Jan De Nul group.
