Maersk has launched a new container service between the port of Pusan (S. Korea) and Vostochny port (terminal operated by Vostochnaya Stevedoring Company), the company reports according to Interfax.
The first vessel of this weekly service was a 698-TEU container carrier OSG Bosstec.
Maersk is the second global container carrier to arrange an independent service in the Far East of Russia in 2009. In January a regular weekly service was launched by APL at VSC terminal.
Maersk Line is a worldwide organization with offices in over 125 countries – with global headquarters in Denmark. Denmark). The company’a fleet numbers over 470 container carriers and over 1 900 000 containers. In 2008, the company’s net profit fell 4.8%, year-on-year, to $2.86 bln.
