Russia and India expect to settle all issues related to a contract on the sale of the Admiral Gorshkov aircraft carrier by mid-October, Russian Technologies state corporation head Sergei Chemezov told Interfax on Thursday.
"We hope to settle everything by signing an additional agreement by mid-October," Chemezov said.
The contract for the delivery of the Admiral Gorshkov, signed in 2004, was initially estimated at $1.5 billion, including the 16 Mikoyan MiG-29K deck fighter jets, estimated at $750 million (12 MIG-29K's plus four MiG-29KUB's). But the funding agreed proved insufficient and an additional $1.2 billion is required to carry the project through.
