The Russian Prosecutor General's Office Investigation Committee met with law enforcers from Finland, Sweden and Estonia to discuss the Arctic Sea dry cargo ship situation,
Investigation Committee spokesman Vladimir Markin told Interfax on Thursday.
"The sides reached mutual understanding on the Arctic Sea situation and elaborated an plan for further joint investigation," he said.
The law enforcers thanked Russia for the meeting and lauded the professionalism of the release of Russian hostages, Markin said.
"They also said that Malta, Sweden, Finland, Estonia and Latvia agreed to form the joint team for investigating the incident. The indictment of suspected pirates, excluding the eight persons arrested in Russia, will take place on national territories," Markin said.
