Scores of people were killed in north Afghanistan when a fuel tanker exploded after it was hit by what is believed to have been a NATO airstrike, regional media said according to RIA Novosti.
The blast occurred in the northern Afghan province of Kunduz.
Local officials say some 90 people were killed, but the information has yet to be confirmed.
A district police official said the blast occurred after Taliban militants had hijacked a fuel tanker.
