Creation of Rosneft’s support coastal base at 82 SRZ shipyard will require additional 2,000 employees. The jobs to be generated within the nearest 5 years, Acting Governor of Murmansk Region Marina Kovtun said after the meeting with Rosneft President Igor Sechin, press center of the regional government informs.
Under offshore projects in the western Arctic, Rosneft plans to build not only a support coastal base in the Murmansk Region but also plants to produce underwater fittings, concrete blocks, heliport for dozens of crafts, as well as logistic/transshipment/storage facilities.
To train highly-qualified personnel for the projects implementation, the regional government in conjunction with Rosneft will set up a center of Arctic competence at Murmansk State Technical University.
“Large-scale implementation of Rosneft’s projects creates opportunities for economic stability of the entire region. All related sectors will be given a vigorous impetus,” Igor Sechin says.
“Rosneft has already commenced preparing for exploratory drilling in the Kara Sea. The first well of Universitetskaya will be drilled in August.
