On January 28, nuclear icebreaker Taimyr commenced providing icebreaking assistance to M/V Yury Arshenevsky. According to the press center of FSUE Atomflot, the vessel is on her way from Arkhangelsk to port Sabetta.
The assistance is to be completed on January 29.
“As the temperature is low, unloading at port Sabetta is slow. Despite the availability of three berths two vessels are waiting for their turn at the off-shore anchorage,” says Andrei Smirnov, Deputy Director General of Atomflot on fleet operation issues.
Nuclear icebreaker Vaygach continues refreshing the canals along the Yenisey river. On January 23, the vessel’s crew ensured safe passage of M/V Sabetta to port Dudinka for loading of scrap metal.
Amid the unfavorable ice situation in the Baltic Sea and the White Sea, nuclear icebreaker Yamal is on a stand-by duty.
