Cargo volumes of Ust-Luga port's facility rose 5% in H1 2015 to two million tonnes
Freight throughput at the terminal Universal Transshipment Complex LLC (UPK) in Leningrad region, Russia based port of Ust-Luga in the first six months of the year exceeded 2 million tonnes, which represents a 5% gain on last year's figures, the company reported.
Between January and June the facility handled more than 1.9 million tonnes of export thermal coal (+0.7% y-o-y) and 0.1 million tonnes of imported manganese ore.
In the reporting period the average daily discharge of gondolas at the terminal was 152 units, the maximum - 268 gondola cars per day. Overall, the terminal handled 27,522 gondola cars and 36 cargo ships a day.
Universal Transshipment Complex LLC (part of UCL Port, a stevedore division of the UCL Holding) is a cargo handling terminal in the port of Ust-Luga, specializing in offloading, storage and further shipment of general and bulk cargoes. Cargo throughput at the facility, which handles primarily export thermal coal, was 4 million tonnes in 2014.
