RF Government revises financing of Kerch bridge construction
Financing under the project on construction of the transport bridge across the Kerch Strait has been reduced from RUB 54.4 bln to RUB 48.9 bln in 2015 and increased from RUB 60 bln to RUB 65.4 bln in 2016. The Gvov Decree dated August 4, 2015 (No 1493-r) has been published at the official portal for legal information.
Financing under the project in 2017-2019 is not to be changed – RUB 60 bln in 2017, RUB 40.8 bln in 2018 and RUB 13 bln in 2019.
According to the approved blueprints, the bridge crossing consists of parallel road and rail sections. The bridge will start on the Taman peninsular, runs along the existing 5km-long dam as far as Tuzla Island. Then the bridge crosses the Kerch Strait, going around Cape Ak-Burun from the north. The crossing will be 19 km long.
The road consists of 4 lanes for a maximum speed of 120 km/h. The traffic capacity of the line is up to 40,000 cars per day. The railway has two railway lines with traffic capacity up to 47 trains per day. The design speed of passenger trains along the bridge is 120 km/h, that of trucks is 80 km/h.
Federal Road Agency’s Administration of Federal Highways “Taman” and Stroygasmontazh LLC signed a state contract for designing and construction of a bridge across the Kerch Strait on February 17, 2015. According to RF Government order, road traffic in the standard operating mode and temporary operation of the railway should be launched in December 2018 while the commissioning of the facilities and completion of the state contract is scheduled for 2019.
