Tactical exercise has been held with the pontoon battalion of the maritime engineer service at the Baltic Fleet, says press center of RF Defence inistry. The engineers had to ensure river crossing of the Coastal Troops’ unit, which was to block illegal armed groups.
The engineer security unit prevented actions of a sabotage unit from mining pontoon bays.
After that, on the river bank, the servicemen launched the bays in the water and arranged a 7-meter wide line and with 60-ton capacity, that gave way to heavy tracked and wheeled vehicles over a 100-metre long water obstacle.
