On August 4, 2016, a comprehensive emergency training exercise was held within the water area of the Kola Bay at the anchorage No 15/4 of Murmansk Sea Fishing Port JSC to practice cooperation of forces and facilities when responding to oil spill incidents that can occur in water areas of seas and ports of Russia’s Northern Sea Basin during bunkering operations involving the vessels LUKOIL-BUNKER LLC, says press center of Marine Rescue Service of Rosmorrechflot (Federal Marine and River Transport Agency) says .
The exercise involved the forces and facilities of Rosmorrechflot MRS’s Northern branch: Viktor Petrov and Markab vessels, oil-collecting equipment (oil-spill booms, skimmers, floating tanks etc.), search-and-rescue team.
Purpose of the exercise: to practice organisation of warning and deployment of the professional emergency response team of Rosmorrechflot MRS’s Northern branch; to train personnel skills needed for oil spill localization and response activities; to practice decision-making on response to emergency situations (oil spills).
The exercise is acknowledged to be a success with the practice targets achieved and the tasks completed successfully.
