In January-August 2016, the Port of Tallinn(Estonia) handled 13.97 mln t of cargo (-8.2%, year-on-year). According to the Port Authorities, transshipment of containers and liquid bulk cargo dropped by 5.5% (131,172 TEUs) and 22% (7.04 mln t) accordingly.
Transshipment of loose bulk cargo increased by 35.5% (2.40 mln t), Ro-Ro – by 5% (2.99 mln t).
In January-August 2016, the ports of Tallinna Sadam were visited by 7.15 mln passengers (+4.5%, year-on-year).
Port of Tallinn ranks fourth largest seaport, next to St. Petersburg, Primorsk and Ust-Luga, on the Baltic Sea. The Port comprises five so-called port zones: Muuga, Old City Harbor, Paljassaare, Paldiski South and Saaremaa. In 2014 throughput at Tallinn port totaled 22.44 million tonnes.
