Russia’s antitrust watchdog threatens some stevedores with higher berth rent

Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia does not rule out recommending RF Government raise the berth rent for stevedoring companies whose tariff policy proves to be inadequate, head of FAS Igor Artemyev told journalists today. According to the official, excessive tariffs with no investments in modernization of ports is observed in Russian stevedoring business today. The resources are moved offshore or paid out as dividends. “The greedy ones will pay three times,” said Igor Artemyev.
