Rusal is set to invest over RUB 5 bln in construction of alumina terminal in Vanino Bay

Four new investment projects to be implemented in the Vanino District of the Khabarovsk Territory in the framework of Free Port of Vladivostok (FPV) were approved on 17 January 2017 by the Committee of FPV Supervisory Board. According to the press center of the regional government, Forum DV LLC is going to create a facility for transshipment of oil products from tank trucks to seaborne transport. Investments into the terminal supposed to transship 150,000 t per year are estimated at RUB 25 mln at the initial phase. The launch is scheduled for 2017. Prichal LLC (subsidiary of Rysal) is set to build a terminal for annual transshipment of 1.5 mln t of alumina. Investments are to exceed RUB 5 bln.

Toki Brickyard LLC is going to build a facility for production of construction materials (RUB 14 mln). The project of Carbon-DV LLC is to recycle the wood processing waste (RUB 173 mln).

The process of obtaining by those companies the status of free port residents is underway.

As of today, there are 19 projects announced in the Vanino District in the framework of FPV. Total investments are about RUB 86 bln. Far East Development Corporation JSC has approved five of them. First resident of the Free Port in the Vanino District  is Far East Vanino Port LLC.

The porto franco regime is being expanded to other municipalities of the Khabarovsk Territory. Federal authorities are working on introduction of necessary amendments into the Federal Law on Free Port of Vladivostok under the umbrella of the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East.

This status can be granted to the city of Khabarovsk and to the district of Sovetskaya Gavan. According to preliminary estimations, this will let attract at least 37 projects with total investments of about RUB 111 bln generate over 7,300 jobs.
