Cargo throughput at Russia's seaports rose 10.5% Y/Y to to 406.35 million tonnes

Total freight volume handled at the seaports in Russia between January and July reached 406.35 million tonnes, or 10.5% up from the same seven-month period of 2016, Rosmorrechflot said on Thursday.

In the reporting period dry bulk volume rose 10% to 205.07 million tonnes, liquid bulk cargo increased 11% to 243.96 million tonnes.
Cargo traffic at the Arctic basin seaports leaped by 65.7% to 42.27 million tonnes. The volume includes 15.96 million tonnes (+ 7%) of dry bulk and 26.30 million tonnes (+ 150%) of liquid bulk cargo.

Handling of freight at the ports in the Baltic Sea increased 6% to 143.88 million tonnes, including 58.60 million tonnes (+ 16%) were dry bulk cargo.  Liquid bulk volume remained flat y-o-y at 85.27 million tonnes.

Seven-month volume of freight traffic at the sea ports of the Azov-Black Sea basin reached nearly 148 million tonnes (+ 8.5%), of which 60.24 million tonnes (+ 8%) of dry bulk cargo and 87.66 million tonnes of liquid bulk cargo (+11%).

Cargo throughput at the Caspian Sea based ports shrank by 38.1% to 2.03 million tonnes. The result was due to a 66.4% drop to 560,000 tonnes in liquid bulk segment. Dry bulk cargo totaled 1.46 million tonnes (-8.1%).

Handling of exports, imports, transit and coastal trade cargo at the sea ports of the Far-Eastern basin increased to 112.94 million tonnes (+ 5.8%), including 68.79 million tonnes of dry bulk cargo (+ 8%) and 44.14 million tonnes of liquid bulk (+ 2%).
