Moscow River Shipping Company to get dredger built by Tsymlyansky Marine Engineering Works in March 2018 (photo)

Port Serpukhov LLC (subsidiary of Moscow River Shipping Company, Moscow region) has awarded the construction of a P-class modular dredger with shallow draft and enhanced dredge head to Tsymlyansky Marine Engineering Works JSC (Rostov Region). As Director General of Moscow River Shipping Company told IAA PortNews, the dredger construction will be financed by United Shipbuilding Corporation under the contract with Goznak-Leasing CJSC with Moscow River Shipping Company as a lessee. 

Upon completion, the newbuilding will be leased out to Port Serpukhov LLC.

The dredger was designed by the Design Bureau of Tsymlyansky Marine Engineering Works (2000-63, Project Ц480М2рД).  Its capacity is 2,000 cbm per hour. The vessel can dredge material of category 4 (gravel) from the depth of over 20 m. For that purpose the dredger will be equipped with dredge pump engine Scania Д11607ОМ 03-04 and enhanced dredge head (with drive power of 200 kW and water supply of 550 cbm/h at 74 m at head. 

According to Andrey Kravchenko, Director General of Port Serpukhov LLC, the construction has begun with the delivery scheduled for the first decade of March 2018.

The new dredger will replace an obsolete one built in 1954 in Kherson.

Port Serpukhov LLC founded one hundred years ago is involved in passenger and cargo transportation. The company currently operates 31 vessels. Its cargo ships carry 1.2-1.4 mln t per year, passenger ships – more than 20,000 passengers per year. Port Serpukhov LLC annually excavates 1.2 mln t of sand and sand-gravel aggregate. Revenues from production and transportation of aggregates make the bulk of the company’s income. 

Tsymlyansky Marine Engineering Works JSC has designed and started serial production of dredging pumps, diesel and electric dredgers with capacity of 80 cbm to 500 cbm of material per hour. The company’s dredgers take part in Yamal-LNG project. The dredgers of Tsymlyansky Marine Engineering Worksare fitted with state-of-the-art equipment complying with the requirements of Russian River Register.
